The structural contents of an FPL net metering packet. Tier drives which items apply — Tier 1 (≤10 kW AC), Tier 2 (>10–100 kW AC), Tier 3 (>100 kW–2 MW AC), with the AC rating calculated as DC nameplate × 0.85. Check every document against FPL's current tier pages and agreement revisions before filing.

• Online net metering application under the correct FPL account and premise, with system size pre-approved before installation
• Signed Interconnection Agreement for Customer-Owned Renewable Generation, in the tier-matching version (Tier 1 / Tier 2 / Tier 3 confirm current revision)
• Final or completed permit from the authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) showing the electrical/mechanical inspection signed off, description of work, system address, permit number, and building department name
• Electrical one-line diagram and inverter specification sheet (Tier 2); single-line diagram submitted before installation, including disconnect switch location for non-inverter systems (Tier 3)
• Utility-interactive inverter documentation — the inverter must automatically isolate from the grid on outage
• Proof of general liability insurance listing the property address — $1M for Tier 2, $2M for Tier 3
• Application fee payment for Tiers 2–3 against FPL's emailed invoice (mail, ACH, or wire) — published amounts $400 / $1,000 verify current schedule
• Bi-directional meter installation by FPL before the system operates — do not energize until FPL's permission-to-operate email
